Kelly Shorkey is a community nurse who developed facial paralysis (Bell's palsy) and multiple cranial-nerve injuries after vaccination. Her injury was recognized by several bodies but denied by the Vaccine Injury Support Program (VISP).

Key points
  1. Kelly Shorkey, 54, was a home and community nurse doing wound and palliative care for 15 years, highly active and on no medications.
  2. Counsel notes multiple bodies including BC's medical health officer, WorkSafeBC, Canada Life, and the Canada Pension Plan have confirmed she is vaccine injured, while the Vaccine Injury Support Program has not.
  3. She says she received two Pfizer doses and a Pfizer booster, developing debilitating full-body itching and back lesions within 48 hours of the second shot.
  4. She describes developing Bell's palsy that paralyzed the right side of her face, followed by synkinesis as the nerves regrew incorrectly.
  5. She reports polycranial nerve damage including trigeminal neuralgia, right-side limb weakness, bowel and vision problems, and convergence insufficiency.
  6. She says she can manage only one task per day and describes herself as 30 to 75 percent of the person she used to be.
  7. She says roughly 55 specialists offered little help, with neurologists refusing to discuss the vaccine or diagnosing functional neurological disorder.
